in case you've already visited all there was to visit in Noumea, try going to the beaches near the southern end of the peninsula. The "Baie des Citrons" can be truly delightful when the wind is blowing. Sometimes they get a bit too crowded, as there are a lots of hotels around. However, if you get up early, you'll have the beach only to yourself.
